Patera with 21 illegal immigrants arrives on Lanzarote

The Guardia Civil yesterday (Sunday, 8th September 2013) detected and intercepted a patera type boat off the coast of Lanzarote with 21 illegal immigrants on board which had travelled from the African continent. It is the first time this year that has been detected off the coast of Lanzarote so far this year. Of the 21 occupants, all male, four of these were minors. Some of them were taken to the hospital José Molina Orosa with symptoms of hypothermia. The skipper of the boat has been arrested.
