Tenerife South airport gets three new routes to Germany and Sweden

Since the 28th of October 2012, the Tenerife South airport has three new connections, two with Germany and a third with Sweden. The flights to Germany are operated by Germania and the one to Sweden is operated by Scandinavian Airlines. The new flights from Germany will come from Memmingen airport and Rostock-Laage every Saturday, and the flights from Sweden will depart from Umea airport on Thursdays.

Germania will make available for these flights an Airbus A-319 and a Boeing 737-700, with capacity to carry 150 and 148 passengers, respectively. Meanwhile, Scandinavian Airlines operates a Boeing 737-700 with capacity for 141 seats. With these new routes, Germania joins other airlines which also fly to Tenerife South. The addition of these flights to the islands southern airport means an increase of an average of 100 weekly connections with Germany, a country with which it has links to the airports of Bremen, Cologne, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Karlsruhe / Baden-Baden, Erfurt, Osnabrük Münster, Hannover, Leipzig / Halle, Munich, Nuremberg, Paderborn, Stuttgart, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Berlin.

The new route to Umea from Scandinavian Airlines joins other airlines that also connect the the Reina Sofia airport with Sweden: Air Europa, TUI Fly Nordic, Thomas Cook, Scandinavian, Norwegian, Orbest, Jet Time, Nova Airlines and First Air.
