12 cruise ships bring over 23,000 tourists to Gran Canaria

Over the next week a total of 12 cruise ships will visit the Santa Catalina harbour in Gran Canaria bringing over 23,000 tourists to the island. Yesterday 6,723 tourists arrived at the harbour and visited the city. Tomorrow (Saturday 27th October 2012) will be the busiest day with the arrival of 8,133 passengers on a total of four cruise ships which will be docking at the harbour.

Tourists from the Rotterdam, Independance of the Seas and Thompson Dream ships yesterday flooded the tourist information centre located at the exit of the harbour to enquire about the beaches, shopping centres, bus timetables and the location of areas such as Maspalomas and Vegueta. They were also treated to a newly refurbished Santa Catalina Park.
