Two people injured as boat catches fire and sinks near Mogan – Gran Canaria
In another boat related incident in the south of Gran Canaria in recent months, two men have been injured, one seriously, as a result of burns suffered in a fire on a boat two miles of the coast of Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria in the municipality of Mogan, which sank after catching fire at sea. The incident took place yesterday (Sunday 22nd July 2012) at 18.12. A 27 year old man has suffered burns in the first and second degree on 30% of their body while another man, a 49 year old, has suffered minor burns. Both were taken to shore in a boat sailing through the area. Once ashore, the most seriously injured was taken by ambulance to the Hospital Insular de Gran Canaria, while the other was evacuated by ambulance to Arguineguin.
