Over 50% of people working in the Canaries earn less than €1,000 a month

A recent report has shown that the 50.10 percent of workers in the Canary Islands earn less than €1,000 per month, while the national average in Spain stands at 43.51%. This is one of the pieces of data collected in a report by CC.OO (Comisiones Obreras) on the wage structure which has been developed in 2010 as a result of the data provided by the Tax Office. The report also notes that workers in the islands that earn an average of between €1,000 and €2,000 is 25.40%, while a national level is 25.36%. In the of €2,000 to €3,000, the percentages reach a 4.95%, while the stretch of €4,000 euros to €10,000 represents 4.21% in the Canaries and 6,03% in the mainland.
