Work contracts in Tenerife rise in 2011

Tourism continues to generate work contracts and influence the decline in unemployment in Tenerife. In the first seven months of 2011, the hospitality industry has registered 27,000 new contracts, 26% more than the same period last year in 2010. In July alone, there were 5,000 new contracts in the hospitality industry (in addition to the 4,000 already signed the previous month of June), which means a growth of 18.8% compared to June. Comparing these figures with those of July 2010, unemployment in this business area registered a decrease of 1.8%, equivalent to 263 fewer unemployed in the hotel/hospitality industry in Tenerife.
