Los Cristianos (Tenerife) Carnival programme

The Los Cristianos (Arona, Tenerife) carnival will be held this year between the 14th and the 28th March 2011 whenthe municipality of Arona celebrates one of the most important events of the year. The “Carnival of Los Cristianos” is also the most eagerly awaited by the residents of the coastal town. A carnival that welcomes curious people and tourists in a celebration where they become the main actors. Parades, shows and fancy dress balls are just a small part of the fun that the city offers during these days.

Calendar events:

• March, 19^th : Carnival Queen candidates’ presentation.
• March, 23^th : Senior citizens fancy-dress Ball.
• March, 24^th : Children’s Queen election & coronation show.
• March, 25^th : Adult Queen election & coronation show.
• March, 26^th : Carnival masks and make-up workshop, passacaglia.
• March, 27^th : Great Carnival Parade Arona 2011.
• March, 28^th : ‘Sardine’ cardboard figure burnt (grotesque funeral parade).
