The Canary Islands are full!
According to figures being released and due to the divertion of tourists from other destinations such as Egypt, the Canaries are ‘full’. Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Tenerife are close to full occupation in February. In Lanzarote, occupation levels are currently at 80% (10% higher than this time last year), while in Gran Canaria the levels reach 90%. It seems that the same businesses that were compaining two years ago of low occupation levels are now complaining that they have no vacancies. Some hotels are discussing stopping sales until the occupation levels decrease. The guaranteed occupation levels are until just after the Easter break.
