Tourist Arrivals Soar By 30% On Lanzarote in September
The number of tourists visiting Lanzarote rose by 30% last month, according to the latest figures just released by the Spanish airport authority AENA. As a total of 122,222 visitors arrived on flights to Lanzarote from across Europe.
British visitors accounted for well over 60% of this figure, as 77,281 arrivals from the UK touched down at Lanzarote airport. A figure that is up by a whopping 48% versus September 2009 figures and by 27% versus the same month in 2008. German visitors also grew last month by just over 12%.
Overall 1,091,988 foreign tourist s have now spent their holidays in Lanzarote during the first nine months of this year. An increase of 10.23% versus the same period in 2009. Suggesting that this popular Canary Islands all important tourist industry is now well on the road to recovery after a miserable 2009.
