Tourism up 5.8% in Canary Islands

The Canary Islands have seen an increase of 5.8% in tourists during July 2010 when compared to the same month the year before. British tourism was up by 1% representing a 23.5% share in the tourism market (the highest porcentage), this rise breaks the downturn in British tourism since May 2008. Despite these positive figures, in the first 7 moths of this year (2010) British tourism has fallen 9.3% when compared to the same period during 2009. German tourism was also up, 1.9% which puts it in thrid place with regards to tourism in the Canaries. There was also a rise in tourism from Italy with a rise of 5.2%
