Car sales up 18% in May

Car sales in the Canary Islands were up 18% in the first fortnight of May. A total of 1.036 vehicles were matriculated, a rise of 17.9% when compared to the figure of 879 for the same period in 2009. Vehicles purchased for car hire companies also saw a considerable National increase (49.5%) and for business use, the sales were up 28%.
