€18.000.000 for tourism campaign
€18.000.000 is going to be spent over three years on promoting the Canary Islands in a bid to increase tourism and air traffic. Along with the traditional campaigns aimed at Great Britain and Germany, the campiagn will try and attract tourism from Scandinavia, Holland, France and Italy. The secretary of state for tourism, Joan Mesquida pointed out that this was the highest amount ever to be designated for promotion and is being funded 50% by the national government and the remaining 50% by the Canarian government.
