Air traffic rises slightly in the Canary Islands

Air triffic has risen slightly in the Canary Islands when compared with figures from January 2009. The total amount of passengers for all 8 airports in the Canaries for January 2010 was 2.618.725, which is a 1% increase on figures for the same month the previous year. By airports, Gran Canaria moved 860.795 passengers, a 1,2% increase, followed by Tenerife Sur, with 687.684 (+1%), Lanzarote, 379.429 (+1,7%), Tenerife North, 300.966 (+8,2%) and La Palma, 84.738 (+6,5%), while Fuerteventura had 290.401 passengers (-7,2%), El Hierro, 12.698 (-8%) and La Gomera, 2.014 (-22,4%).
