Canaries lose €1.500.000.000 in tourism crisis
It is thought that the tourism crisis in the Canaries could have reduced income in the archipielago by up to €1.500.000.000 (a reduction of 15%) and the loss of up to 15.000 according to recent figures. This figure has been reached by multiplying the number of tourists lost when compared to last year, by the amount that each tourist spends during their visit to the islands. Ashotel are requesting, amongst other measures, airport taxes are slashed during the crisis to help improve tourism.
