Three hotels close down in Puerto de la Cruz

Two hotels have already closed in the tourist area of Puerto de La Cruz in the north of Tenerife and a further one has announced its imminent closure, leading to the loss of around 200 jobs. La Paz and Xibana Park have closed and Chiripa Park is due to close on the 20th December (2009).

Ashotel, the association of hotels, has said that it is worried about the occupation level in Puerto de La Cruz which this year is down 20% on figures for 2008 and claims that 2010 is going to be worse still.
