Domestic flight headache for AENA

Domestic and inter-island flights from Tenerife South airport show no sign of increasing as long as Tenerife North airport continues to operate, according to a report from owner AENA.

The southern airport now is virtually only running international holiday travel, whilst Spanish national operators opt for the north. Inter island flights from the south are less than 0.5% of the airports business.

However the southern airport was ranked as one of the top airports for revenue generation in the whole of Spain earlier this year.
