Patera with 16 illegal immigrants arrive on Gran Canaria beach

A ‘patera’ type boat with 16 illegal immigrants on board arrived yesterday (Friday, 3rd January 2013) at the El Morrete Tarajalillo beach, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana in Gran Canaria.

According to Red Cross sources, everyone aboard the boat were in good health, although two of them were transferred to the Maspalomas heath centre due to them feeling unwell. All immigrants are from North Africa.
