Tourism spend drops 3.5% in February

The amount of money that tourists spent on their holidays in Spain has dropped by 3.5% when compared to figures for the same month last year. The amount spent per day has also dropped by 1.5% to €99. The total amount spent nationally was €2.534 million with the highest percentage coming from the British market, spending €894 million but this figure is down 10,3% in the first two months of the year. Other data released showed that people travelling through a package holiday dropped by 6,6% during February, whilst those organising their own travel grew by 3,6%.
