Womans body found on Lanzarote
The body of a woman, estimated to be aged over 60 years of age, has been found in the municipality of Haria on the island of Lanzarote. Although it has not been confirmed officially, it is thought to be that of the British woman, Margaret Holt, who went missing on Lanzarote on the 23rd December 2011 as reported here
A resident of the Haria area of Punta de Gayo reported the discovery yesterday (Monday, 27th May 2013) and a helicopter from the Canary Islands Emergency and Rescue Group (GES) was dispatched to search the area in an area of difficult access. After more than an hours work firefighters located the body which is reported to be that of a woman of over 60 years of age, but confirmation will have to await the outcome of an autopsy to determine exactly who it is.
