9 illegal immigrants arrive on coast of Gran Canaria

A small ‘patera’ boat with nine sub-Saharan immigrants arrived on the coast of Gran Canaria in the municipality of Santa Lucía on Sunday night. After receiving the notice of the arrival of the boat, local police from Santa Lucia along with Guardia Civil agents detained the illegal immigrants in the vicinity of the International Windsurfing area in Pozo Izquierdo, Gran Canaria, which is where the boat arrived. The Red Cross team were also available to determine their condition.
