The number of unemployed people in the Canaries dropped by 3,100 people in the third quarter of this year (2011) and the unemployment rate in the islands still stands at 29.55%. The total number of unemployed people is 328,700, representing 18,400 unemployed more than a year ago (2010) which is an increase of 5.94% on 2010.
