In Guia de Isora in the south west of Tenerife, Guardia Civil officers have recently arrested a Colombian man who is accused of sexually assaulting and injuring a young girl at Playa San Juan.  Officers were called to the scene following an argument between the arrested man and a youth who confronted him in her defence.

In El Fraile, in the south of Tenerife, a man and a Guardia Civil officer from Playa de las Américas  were seriously affected by fumes as they tried to rescue people from a house when a fire broke out last Friday.

In Puerto de la Cruz in the north of Tenerife, a 29 year-old man was recently arrested and accused  of causing injuries with a knife.  He had apparently visited the home of the victim and an argument had ensued regarding the ownership of a motorcycle.  He punched the victim and then stabbed him in his arm and side, and ran off.  The arrested man had a record of 8 previous detentions.

In Santa Cruz, the Rambla de Pulido is not likely to be fully open to traffic until September.  This follows damage caused to a building during the bad weather which caused the recent disaster in the capital.  According to a recent technical report submitted by an architect, repair works have been severely delayed  by the fact that some residents have failed to permit technical inspections to be made in their homes.  Apparently, the Ayuntamiento  is to issue an order for these inspections to be made within the next few days.  Rambla de Pulido is technically open, but restricted to light vehicles only, which will not interfere with the repair works.

The Cabildo of Tenerife is very close to completing the project of the elimination of barriers on Costa Adeje. Works are currently under way on this equal opportunities project which has been designed to improve  accessibility for disabled people, affecting the area between Playa Fañabe and the beach at Puerto Colon.  The total investment involved has reached some 200,000 euros.
