10/02/2012 @ 10:04 – Four months after the initial eruption on El Hierro there is still no clear indication of what is going to happen, some scientists say that the eruption phase is continuing, others say that it is ending. Over the last few weeks there have been a couple of earthquakes over 3 degrees Richter but the IGN say that this is not symbolic of any new ‘phase’ or new eruption process.
23/01/2012 @ 08:47 – Scientists at the National Geographic Institute (IGN) have reported that the gas temperature in the interior of the lava fragments rose to 426 ° C on Saturday (21/01/2012). This measurement was taken collecting samples, which were expelled to the surface of the mar de Las Calmas area starting at around 09.30. A greater amplitude of the tremor occurred at 10.00. A temperature of 19.7 º C in the emission area was recorded, compared to 19.0 ° C in an unaffected area.
09/01/2012 @ 08:47 – During Saturday (07/01/2012) there was a presence of “balls or balloons” of large lava, some measuring over 2 meters in size which rose to the surface of the sea and floated through the volcanic due to the gas trapped inside, reaching temperatures of up to 85.5 ° C.
08/01/2012 @ 11:19 - The cameras that are currently providing live images of the eruptive process off the coast of La Restinga continues, as evidenced by the volcanic tremor signal and the expulsion of magmatic material to the surface, although it is currently in a phase of stability. In the latest eruptive process last Wednesday, pieces of lava fragments of large size, of about 1 cubic meter in diameter, were seen on the sea surface but due to the poor sea conditions could not be collected.
29/12/2011 @ 10:31 - The underwater volcano on the south coast of the island of El Hierro has again started to expel fine material and steaming in the area of the sea surface has been observed. A note from the Civil Protection Plan for Volcanic Risk (Pevolca) indicates that it has recorded increased activity in the area of emission and the tremor signal shows that the eruptive process which began in October is still active. As for the evolution of the sea surface affected by this process, the IGN has explained that over the last two days, it is spreading to the east and northeast of the island carried by the current, which has allowed it to be visible from Valverde since the 26th December 2011. The amplitude of the tremor signal has had a behavior similar to the previous days but yesterday its level increased.
With respect to the deformations of the ground control stations show a stable pattern.

15/10/2011 @ 11:59 - Scientists claimed yesterday that the eruptive process had stabilized the last 24 hours. The green area that extends over the “Mar de Las Calmas” which since Thursday could be seen not only from most of the southern coast of El Hierro but also from space, is getting larger due to the ocean currents. Researchers at the National Research Council (CSIC) and the National Geographic Institute (IGN) said yesterday through a statement released 7PM, that the eruption of El Hierro “remains stable” as during the last 24 hours it “has maintained a low seismic activity yet continues the same trend in the deformation of the ground.”

El Hierro earthquake and eruption video
12/10/2011 @ 20:50 - The scientific teams and researchers working on the island of El Hierro have found earlier this afternoon two green spots in the sea with strong sulfur smells and a large quantity of dead fish southwest of Punta Restinga, which confirms a new volcanic eruption at less distance and depth than the one that occurred on Monday.
This was stated during a press conference in Valverde, the capital of El Hierro by the Director General of Security and Emergency of Canary Islands, Juan Manuel Santana, who has stated that two sources have been located underwater confirming two eruptions, the first one 750 feet deep and two miles (3.7 km) away from the coast and the second one 500 meters under the sea and half mile (2.7 km) from Punta Restinga. He went on to indicate that these two sources are consistent with the seismic graphs from the last few hours, showing a reduction in tremors (continuous tremor characteristic that produces the magma on its way to the surface) which also indicate a reduction in magmatic pressure in the subsurface.
12/10/2011 @ 18:58 - The Canary Islands government has announced that there are two patches of green substances, with strong odour of sulfur, and a large quantity of dead fish in the waters of La Restinga which could confirm the existence of a second eruption.
12/10/2011 @ 18:08 – For the first time since the underwater eruption on Monday morning, the intensity of the tremors seemed to have reduced today, but has now regained strength, see the latest chart.
12/10/2011 @ 16:45- It has been reported that the Canarian Government have requested the help of Telefonica, who have arranged for a ship that is normally used for laying and repairing underwater fibre optic cables, to assist with photographic and collecting other data related to the underwater volcanic activity of the coast of LaRestinga, this is the ship to be used, Leon Thevenin, which has an on-board robot which can be submerged to a depth of up to 2.000 metres. The ship is currently docked in the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
12/10/2011 @ 16:05- The director of the National Geographic Institute (IGN) in the Canary Islands, José María Blanco, has said today (Wednesday) that, despite having sufficient knowledge and instruments, the experts that are currently studying the volcanic activity on the island of El Hierro are facing an unknown situation. Despite the fact that they have been able to predict the current eruption with two months notice, it is impossible to determine what will happen next. He added that while this is the first time that a volcanic eruption has been monitored on the islands and despite having the scientific expertise of other eruptions, the behavior of each volcano is different. The only known thing at the moment is that there is an opening, 5km from La Restinga, which is expelling magma and that there is a threat of a further eruption closer to the coast of the island, which is why the residents of La restinga have been evacuated. The president of the Canarian Government, Paulino Rivero, has highlighted the collaboration between all agencies involved and recognised that, although the current atmosphere is of calm and serenity, there is also uncertainty about the evolution of this volcanic phenomenon and he pointed out that nothing seems to indicate that there is a change of direction at the moment.
12/10/2011 @ 13:45 – La Restinga residents are being allowed to return to their homes, only if accompanied by emergency services personnel and exclusively to collect medicines and documentation.
12/10/2011 @ 13:29 – The president of the Canarian Government has asked the residents of El Hierro to ‘remain calm in these uncertain times’. He also stated in a crisis meeting held earlier today, that the government is studying whether to bring in a ‘robot ship’ to try and get data and images of the underwater activity.
12/10/2011 @ 12:01 – It would appear, from scientists working in La Restinga to understand the evolution of the volcano of El Hierro have detected that the tremors have stabilised in the depths of the island.
12/10/2011 @ 10:00 – A ‘crisis’ meeting is due to start at 11:00, local time, to discuss the current situation. Attending the meeting will be the emergency military unit (UME), the president of the Canary Islands government, Paulino Rivero, The Guardia Civil and others.
12/10/2011 @ 09:15 – Latest earthquake map. There have been 10,025 events since 19th July 2011.
12/10/2011 @ 09:04- Tremors continue below the surface of El Hierro, south of La Restinga.
12/10/2011 @ 08:45- El Hierro facts: The island, the smallest of the Canary Islands, has a population (2009 census) of 10.892 people distributed as follows, Valverde, the capital of the island has a population of 4.938, Frontera has approximately 3.941 habitants and El Pinar de El Hierro has around 1.874. It’s total land mass is 268.71 km2.
12/10/2011 @ 07:38 – Researchers, scientists and geologists have confirmed that the magma is moving towards the coast of El Hierro. The population of La Restinga, about 400 people, have been evacuated to nearby sports venues where they wait for news. The maximum ‘red’ alert continues for this area of El Hierro.
11/10/2011 @ 20:42 – Joan Martí, a researcher at the CSIC (Instituto de Ciencias de la Tierra) and secretary of the ‘Asociación Internacional de Vulcanología’ (International association of vulcanology) has stated that “As the magma approaches the coast of El Hierro, it could trigger an explosive eruption if it occurs at a depth of less than 200 metres but would not be dangerous if appropriate safety measures are taken”. It is thought that the magma could be following a fault under the sea bed which is known to run underneath the island and could currently be looking for another way to escape to the surface. Scientists have observed that the magma is currently moving towards the centre of the island.
11/10/2011 @ 19:47 – Carmen Lopez from IGN (National Geographic Institute) has said that a new eruption closer to the coast would be ‘more explosive’. The El Roquillo tunnel will remain closed. The president of the Council of El Hierro has said that it is unknown how long the evacuation from La Restinga will last.
11/10/2011 @ 18:49 – The president of the Government is currently meeting with experts and ministers in La Moncloa to discuss the El Hierro situation.
11/10/2011 @ 18:10 – As a precaution, all maritime transport has been prohibited in the danger zone around the epicentre of the eruption off the south coast of El Hierro.
11/10/2011 @ 18:02 – The military arrive at the sports venue where the residents of La Restinga have been evacuated to. The total population of La Restinga has now been evacuated.
11/10/2011 @ 16:32 – The epicenter of recent seismic activity seems to be shifting toward the center of El Hierro. The National Geographic Institute expects higher intensity earthquakes, between 4 and 5 degrees, as the pressure of the lava underground searches for a point to escape.
11/10/2011 @ 16:30 – According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN) experts, more earthquakes are expected that are likely to exceed 4 degrees on the Richter scale.
11/10/2011 @ 15:36 – URGENT – Canarian Government raises alarm level to ‘maximum alert’ (red) fearing a new eruption closer to the coast of El Hierro as the population of La Restinga on the coast are evacuated.
11/10/2011 @ 15:06 – Police, Guardia Civil and ambulances have arrived at the sports centre where the residents of La Restinga are being evacuated to.
11/10/2011 @ 15:02 – Urgent communication from the Canarian Government here requesting that the residents of La Restinga are evacuated to a nearby sports centre.
11/10/2011 @ 14:59 – New earthquake felt in the La Restinga area of El Hierro as residents are evacuated to a sports venue ‘as a precaution’.
a
11/10/2011 @ 14:56 – URGENT – Residents of La Restinga are being evacuated to a nearby sports venue after the threat of another eruption closer to the coast looks like a possibility.
11/10/2011 @ 13:19 – Tremors continue to be detected since the eruption, as shown in the current chart from the IGN. Further eruptions have not been ruled out.
11/10/2011 @ 12:08- Vulcanologists have officially reported that there has been an underwater eruption at 600m depth, 5 kilometers south of La Restinga on El Hierro. This happened at 04:00 yesterday morning (Monday, 10th October 2011). As the volcanic activity continues, they have not ruled out a further eruption closer to the coast of the island. While magma is flowing from the aperture, it is minimal due to the pressure of the water.
11/10/2011 @ 07:47 – THE IGN has reported that the seismic activity has dropped dramatically since the news of the eruption in the sea bed south of La Restinga.
a
10/10/2011 @ 23:00 – Carmen Lopez, from the IGN (National Geographic Institute) has said that the next 24 hours will be crucial to determine if the opening that occurred five kilometers from the coast and which “is flowing magma” opens closer to the earth.
10/10/2011 @ 20:57 – It has been reported that a large number of dead fish has been observed on the surface of the sea where the underwater earthquake occurred.
10/10/2011 @ 18:23 – The National Geographic Institute (IGN) reports on its website that it has been an earthquake of 1.8 degrees, 12 miles deep, south-west of El Pinar at 14:37:28 hours.
10/10/2011 @ 16:29 – The El Hierro Council (Cabildo) has stated that the underwater eruption has happened at sea in an area known as ‘La Punta de La Restinga’ and not in ‘Mar de Las Calmas’ as previously reported.
10/10/2011 @ 14:59 – An underwater eruption began early this morning off the southern coast of El Hierro is situated at a distance of about 5 miles from La Restinga and around 1,000 meters deep. Further activity has not been ruled out.
10/10/2011 @ 12:43 – A volcanic eruption has been confirmed by the president of the Council of El Hierro, it is located 5km off the coast of La Restinga in El Hierro. So far there are no reports of any alterations to the sea bed surface. Guardia Civil helicopters have been reported to be inspecting the area.
10/10/2011 @ 12:30 – Possible eruption detected on El Hierro. Four ships have alerted the maritime authorities of the existence of volcanic activity, four miles south of La Restinga (El Hierro) and about 500 meters deep. The latest data collected by the National Geological Survey stations on the island of El Hierro suggest a submarine eruption up to 2,000 meters deep in the Las Calmas area. El Hierro has suffered, since mid-July 2011, around 9,600 earthquakes caused by magma activity in the base of the island, the strongest of them on Saturday night, which reached a magnitude of 4.3 degrees on the Richter scale. If confirmed, this eruption will be the first recorded in Spain since 1971, when the Teneguía volcano emerged on the island of La Palma.

Are these Earthquakes man made by HAARP? A case can be argued based on the readings from the facility itself: Suddenly on Sept there was a major uptick in severity and amount of quakes, corresponding to the following Haarp output:
