Polls point to PP victory in 2011 elections

spain general elections 2011

According to polls published in a major newspaper yesterday, it would seem that the Partido Popular will have their best results ever in the upcoming general elections in Spain on the 20th November 2011 while the the PSOE party will suffer a great loss. In the survey it was revealed that Mariano Rajoy would get 194 seats, (45.4% of the votes) so the Partido Popular would get the best results in their history while Alfredo Perez Rubalcaba will acheive 112 seats (30.9% of the votes) which would be their worst outcome since 1978. At mid-campaign point the survey shows a ‘general breakdown’ of the PSOE party in it’s main strongholds of Andalucia, Catalunya and the Basque Country, where the PP is undergoing a rapid increase which would consolidate an absolute majority of 194 seats which is even higher than that of José María Aznar in 2000.
