From today and until the 3rd of April, the old analogue TV tranmitters in Tenerife will be switched off one by one until the cut off date of the 3rd April 2010 when all TV broadcasts will be in digital format.
The first switch off will be today and tomorrow and will affect 9.4% of the population and will be in the following municipalities : Candelaria, El Rosario, San Juan de la Rambla, Granadilla, Santa Cruz, Güímar, La Laguna, Santiago del Teide, Adeje, Tacoronte, Tegueste, El Sauzal, La Guancha, Icod de los Vinos, Garachico, Los Realejos, Santa Úrsula, La Matanza, La Victoria and Tegueste.
