El Medano bids for international Kite-surf event

El Medano, on the south coast of Tenerife, is bidding to host the International World Kite-Surf event this year between the 9th and the 15th August 2010. This plan was announced in Madrid in this years FITUR fair where the municipality of Granadilla aims to attract tourism interesting in aquatic sports.

The Las Palmas de Gran Canaria carnival starts today with the 1st round of the Murgas contest at the Parque Santa Catalina and finishes on the 19th February with the traditional burial of the sardine.
